About International Exchanges Carried By Mitsui V-Net

Senior volunteer members, mainly from Mitsui Group companies, interact one-on-one with each other and offer a variety of consultations based on their wealth of experience from their working years.

We have partnered with the following universities and have been interacting with their international students.

The University of Tokyo

One-on-one interaction in Japanese is offered to international students at the University of Tokyo's Kashiwa Campus for the purpose of "improving Japanese language skills" and "learning about Japanese culture and history".
As the activities progress, mutual understanding is deepened through daily consultations and communication as friends.

In addition to one-on-one interaction, we also hold events such as "Calligraphy Class" and "English Rakugo Appreciation" to introduce Japanese culture to international students.

Yokohama National University

The program provides one-on-one interaction in Japanese or English for international students at Yokohama National University to improve their Japanese language skills and meet their various needs.

In addition to one-on-one interaction, group events are held throughout the year for members and exchange students, such as "Jogashima Fujimi Stroll," "Tea ceremony experience," "Japanese formal kimono dressing experience," and other events.

Many events are held mainly on weekends throughout the year.
One-on-one interaction activities are primarily held on weekdays.

Chiba University

Our activities are focused on group events for international students at Chiba University.
Major activities include leading tours of the "Tokyo National Museum," bus tours of various facilities and manufacturing plants of interest, and workshops conducted as part of support for job hunting activities in Japan.

Komazawa University

In addition to efforts to improve the level of Japanese language skills through one-on-one interaction in Japanese for exchange students at Komazawa University, the program also meets their various needs.

As well as one-on-one interaction, we also hold group events between members and exchange students, such as “Setagaya Stroll,’’ a walk in Setagaya, where exchange students live, and other events to meet their needs.
Furthermore, many events are held on weekends throughout the year, such as "Setagaya Stroll," which is a group event with members and international students, "Tea Ceremony Experience," "Yukata Experience," and others.

One-on-one activities are mainly held on weekdays based on on-campus interaction.

Saitama University

This is an activity to deepen mutual understanding through one-on-one interaction in Japanese with international students of Saitama University.
One-on-one activities are mainly held on weekdays, but sometimes on Saturdays and Sundays depending on the arrangements with international students.

Kobe University

Need support? Let us help you!
At Kobe University's international student exchange activities, we help international students adapt smoothly to life in Japan by providing one-on-one interactions, where we carefully answer their questions and concerns about daily life, cultural practices, society, and especially learning Japanese (particularly conversational skills). Additionally, we organize various events to help students gain a deeper understanding of Japan's traditional culture and history. For example, we offer activities such as a "Historical Walking Tour of Kobe's Former Foreign Settlement," "Calligraphy Classes," and "Cultural Facility Visits," allowing international students to directly experience and gain a deeper understanding of Japan’s charm.

Doshisha University

Need support? Let us help you!
At Doshisha University's international student exchange activities, we support international students in adapting to life in Japan by providing one-on-one interactions, where we carefully address their questions about daily life, cultural practices, and the Japanese language (particularly conversation skills). Additionally, we organize various events to help students gain a deeper understanding of Japan's traditional culture and history. For example, we offer activities such as a visit to the "Old Mitsui Family Shimogamo Residence" in Kyoto, "Calligraphy Classes," and "Tea Ceremony Experience Classes," allowing international students to directly experience and gain a deeper understanding of Japan's charm.

Osaka University

At Osaka University, the International Student Exchange Program includes the "Osaka University Host Family Program (OHP)," which facilitates one-on-one interactions between host families and international students. In this program, local members engage with international students through daily conversations, offering opportunities for casual and open communication in a family-oriented setting. Host families and students have the chance to understand each other's cultures and lifestyles, fostering valuable opportunities for deeper cross-cultural exchange. This initiative plays an important role in promoting mutual understanding and cultural appreciation.
